BLUEFIELD, Va. The Southern Virginia Women's Basketball team
could not over come a strong Bluefield performance despite Kezia
Ford's 19 points, and eventually fell 71-49. Ford was tied with
Bluefield guard Heather Ferrell in points and Holly Hudson of the
Rams in rebounds with 8.
"She had a strong performance for us," said Head Coach Mike
Harmon. "We need to get her help so that a performance like this
isn't given in a losing effort. They (Bluefield) were a little bit
smaller than us, but they were quicker, and I think they outworked
us, which needs to get fixed soon."
The Knights were unable to respond to an overwhelming first
half, and the Rams went into the break leading 40-23. SVU shot 41%
from the field and was 10 for 18 from the free throw line. SVU
falls to 3-3 on the season. The Knights return to action Dec. 2
when they travel to ply Mary Baldwin. Tip-off is scheduled for
6:00pm.
