BUENA VISTA, Va.- The Southern Virginia women's soccer team fell 4-0 to league opponent Mary Washington on Wednesday night at The Fields in their sixth loss in a row.
The Eagles (8-6, 3-2 CAC) scored the first goal of the game in the 16th minute, and broke through again in the 33rd minute taking a 2-0 lead into halftime.
The Knights (3-11, 0-5 CAC) came out aggressive in the second half but couldn't capitalize on their opportunities and score. The Eagles countered the Knights aggressive play by scoring two more times in the 58th and 65th minutes to win the game 4-0.
The Knights took 11 shots throughout the game, 8 of which came in the second half. The Eagles took 24 shots controlling the ball for most of the game.
Goalkeeper Savannah Uri ended the game with a total of 5 saves.
Southern Virginia hits the road to face league opponent Penn St.-Harrisburg on October 17th; kickoff is set for 12:00 p.m.
