BUENA VISTA, Va.—In the final home game of the year the Southern Virginia men's soccer team lost to Marymount University by a narrow 2-1 margin.
Marymount (6-8-1, 2-4-1 CAC) found the back of the net first in the 25th minute off of a corner kick. Gregg Allen was quick to respond in the 34th minute with his third goal of the season when the Knights' (1-14, 0-6 CAC) received a penalty kick and he placed the ball in the bottom right corner of the goal.
The Saints scored the winning goal in the 39th minute of the match.
The Knights offense had nine shots, with seven of those coming in the second half. Allen led the attack with three shots on goal. Gabriel Ramirez and Carlos Munoz each had two shots. Keenan Carroll had four saves for the Knights in goal.
The Knights travel to York College of Pennsylvania this Saturday, October 24. Kickoff is set for 3:00 p.m.
