BUENA VISTA, Va.—The Southern Virginia women's soccer team endured a tough 7-0 loss to Christopher Newport in Tuesday night's CAC match at The Fields.
The Captain's (7-3-1, 2-1 CAC) scored the first goal of the game in the 29th minute. The Knights, (3-8, 0-2 CAC) despite playing aggressive defence, conceded another goal to the Captains in the 44th minute going into the half down 2-0.
In the second half, the Captains scored two quick goals in the 52nd and 53rd minutes. Then went on to score three more times to beat the Knights by a final score of 7-0.
The Knights offence struggled to find its rhythm throughout the game going scoreless with only four total shots. Goalkeeper Savannah Uri played hard with seven impressive saves throughout the game.
The Knights face league opponent Wesley in the Homecoming game on Friday, October 9th; kickoff is set for 4 p.m. at The Fields
