BUENA VISTA, VA.—The Southern Virginia men's soccer team were defeated by Roanoke College 3-1 in a competitive contest at The Fields on Thursday.
In the eleventh minute the Knights (1-6) took the lead when Cade Low found the back of the net off of a pass from Carlos Munoz. The Knights stayed strong to keep the lead going into the half.
Despite the lead, Roanoke (4-2) netted three goals in the second half. scoring in the 56th minute to tie the game and later in the 73rd and 83rd minutes to take the lead. Roanoke outshot the Knights 29-8.
Cade Low led the Knights with two shots. Goalkeeper Keenan Carrol had a total of 11 saves to keep the Knights in the game, many of them coming at critical times.
The Knights host Bridgewater College on September 23; kickoff is set for 6 p.m.
