BUENA VISTA, Va.—The Southern Virginia men's soccer team suffered a difficult 4-0 loss to Greensboro College in Wednesday night's match at The Fields.
The Pride (2-4-1) jumped out to an early lead, scoring in the 12th minute. Despite Greensboro's offensive control for most of the first half, the Knight's (1-9) defense closed the half strong down 1-0.
The Pride scored their second goal in the 55th minute to put them up 2-0 and found two more scoring opportunities in the 68th and 80th minutes, beating the Knights 4-0.
The Knights faced the struggle of possession throughout the game, resulting in only four shots compared to Greensboro's 19. Goalkeeper Keenan Carroll gave a valiant effort with four saves throughout the game.
The Knights face league opponent Salisbury on Saturday, October 3; kickoff is set for 12 p.m.
