Box Score BUENA VISTA, Va.—The Southern Virginia women's soccer team was shutout 5-0 Wednesday night by NCAA Division II school Barton College in their final non-conference game of the season.
The first three Barton (4-2-2) goals of the game came within a 4:30 minute span starting in the 11th minute. The Knights (3-7) were never able to connect for a score.
The Bulldogs scored two more goals in the second half to take the 5-0 shutout. Southern Virginia finished with only 10 shots, led by Tatiana Monsen's three shots, and three on goal compared to Barton's 28 and 13.
Three Knights saw time in goal, Carmel Hardy played the first half and recorded five saves.
Southern Virginia is back in action at home on Saturday as they host Salisbury University at 2:30 p.m.
