ARLINGTON, Va.—The Southern Virginia men's soccer team lost 1-0 in another overtime game against Marymount University.
Despite the Knights' (3-12, 1-6 CAC) 18 shots, including eight shots on goal, they were unable to convert. Tyler McElwee led the offense with five shots and three on goal.
The Knights defense held the Saints (3-10, 1-6 CAC) to only two shots in the first half. Keenan Carroll recorded two saves in goal for Southern Virginia.
After 90 scoreless minutes the teams battled in overtime and Marymount took advantage of a cross, and scored a header in the 96th minute to claim the win.
Southern Virginia plays at St. Mary's College of Maryland on Saturday, October 22 at 3:30 p.m.
