BUENA VISTA, Va.—The Southern Virginia men's basketball team used some extra time on Wednesday night, but they were able to capitalize in overtime for a much-needed Capital Athletic Conference victory over Frostburg State, 87-86. 

Spurred by Anders Jacobson's fourth 25+ point game, the Knights (9-13, 8-7 CAC) were able to come up on top of a physical game that included 9 ties and 10 lead changes in the second half.

The first half looked to be all Southern Virginia as the Knights climbed to an 18-point lead with four minutes before the intermission and then led by nine at halftime.

The second half was a different story as the Bobcats (6-16, 4-11 CAC) clawed their way back into it, taking a four-point lead with two minutes to play in regulation. A clutch three-pointer from Kevin Walker brought the Knights back in it as they forced overtime.

Four Knights each made a pair of free throws in overtime to help push the Knights over the edge and capture the victory.

Jacobson finished with 27 points, one shy of his career record, and led the Knights with eight rebounds and four steals. David Baety added 19 points and seven rebounds. Nate Adamson had his season-high of 15 points and led with eight boards and three assists. Walker chipped in nine points.

Southern Virginia is back in CAC action on Saturday as they host Salisbury University in another must-win game. Tipoff is scheduled for 3 p.m. in the Knight Sports Arena.
