Knights Topped by Eagles

BRIDGEWATER, Va.—The Southern Virginia women's soccer team fell 4-2 to Bridgewater College on Tuesday afternoon, in the second game of the season. 

The Knights (1-1-0) started out on the right foot, with a Taylor Martin goal in the seventh minute from a pass from Keirra Tanuvasa to take the lead. Ten minutes later, the Eagles (3-0-0) scored three goals over an eight-minute period, to take a 3-1 lead at the half. 

Eight minutes into the second half Tanuvasa found the back of the net to bring the Knights within one score, but Bridgewater connected in the 78th minute from 25 yards out, taking a two-point lead and putting the game out of reach.

Rachel Miller recorded 12 saves in goal for the Knights.

Southern Virginia is back in action on Friday and Saturday at the Salem Classic where they will face Meredith and Salem colleges.
