Women's Soccer Season Ended by Mary Washington at CAC Tournament

FREDERICKSBURG, Va. — The Southern Virginia University women's soccer team fell to Mary Washington 4-0 in the first round of the Capital Athletic Conference Tournament.

The Eagles (9-10) pulled ahead of the Knights (3-15-2) in the 17th minute on an Amanda Krest goal from Mikaela O'Fallon to claim a 1-0 lead.

Mary Washington pushed their lead in the 39th minute when Lindsey Hendrickson put the ball in the back of the net after receiving the ball from Corinne Carson, giving them the 2-0 edge at the half.

In the second half, the Eagles scored a pair of goals in the 48th and 53rd minutes making the score 4-0.

The Knights lone offensive opportunity came in the 60th minute on a Laurel Storheim shot, saved by Eagles goalkeeper Allison Nork.

Southern Virginia kept the Eagles from scoring the remainder of the game and eventually fell 4-0.

Alyssa Trueman recorded eight saves at goal in her first appearance in the CAC Tournament.

The loss concludes the season for the Knights.
