BUENA VISTA, Va. — The Southern Virginia wrestling team split their duals this afternoon after falling to McDaniel 28-26 and defeating Penn State Mont Alto 35-10.
"It was great to get our first dual win of the year," said head coach Logan Davis. "It was great to see our guys come out and make all the improvements they have made over the past several weeks. We had a lot of pins today, and we are eager to get back onto the mat after Thanksgiving."
The second dual of the day saw the Knights face Mont Alto. Nico Ramirez debuted in his first-ever home contest as a Knight and impressed with a 5-0 victory at the 285-pound weight class.
