Box Score

MARYVILLE, Tenn. — The Southern Virginia men's soccer team dropped its second game in as many days on Saturday, falling 6-1 to Covenant College.

The Scots (2-0) scored their first goal in fourth minute, but sophomore Zach Martin responded with a goal of his own less than a minute later.

Despite attempting 14 shots, the Knights (0-2) were unable to score again. Covenant found the back of the net once more in the first half, and four more times after halftime.

Jacob Solis and James Hampton split time in goal for Southern Virginia, with Solis finishing with two saves and Hampton stopping seven.

Peysen Webster was named to the 2019 Maryville College Bicentennial Soccer All-Tournament after his strong performance at defense.

The Knights will play their home-opener on Wednesday, Sept. 4 as they take on Eastern Mennonite University. Kickoff is slated for 7:00 p.m. at Knight Stadium.
