Women's Soccer Shutout by Pride Falls 4-0

BUENA VISTA, Va. — The Southern Virginia women's soccer team suffered its third loss on Saturday, falling to Greensboro College 4-0.

The Pride (3-1) wasted no time getting on the board, scoring in just the second minute of play. The reigning USA South champions scored again in the 15th and 26th minutes, and took a 3-0 lead into halftime. The Knights (1-3) only managed two shots in the first period.

The second half was a little more balanced, with Southern Virginia taking three shots to the Pride's four. Greensboro rounded out its scoring with only a few minutes to go, putting a fourth in the back of the net with only a few minutes to go.

Freshman Laurel Storheim again led the Knights in shots, attempting two and putting one on frame. Senior Savannah Uri picked up the loss in goal, finishing with four saves.

The Knights play again next Wednesday, Sept. 11 at Ferrum College. The game is set to start at 7:00 pm in Ferrum, Va.
