FAYETTEVILLE, NC. — The Southern Virginia University men's soccer team earned their second win of the season, defeating Methodist 1-0 in a USA South Conference matchup Saturday night.

Game Notes

• The game started out in favor of the Monarchs, getting off seven shots, but the Knight defense stood tall
• In the 45th minute, Thomas Cordova found an open Alec Robertson, who scored the game's lone goal
• Spencer Young stood tall in the cage, denying three scoring opportunities by Methodist
• Again Southern Virginia's defense held their ground, denying the last four scoring opportunities that Methodist had, locking in the 1-0 victory

The Knights return to action Tuesday, October 5, taking on Mary Baldwin in Knight Stadium. Game time is scheduled for 4 pm.
