DANVILLE, VA. — The Southern Virginia University men's soccer team dropped their match to Averett University Wednesday night 2-3 on the road in a USA South Conference matchup. 

Game Notes

• The Knights defense held strong, holding the Cougars offense scoreless until the 45th minute of the game
• Seven seconds before the first half ended, Johnny Kummander scored the game's first goal off of an assist from Orion Mills
• In the 47th minute, Shawn Curtis even the game up at one, scoring an unassisted goal
• In the 62nd minute, Averett had an own goal after a defender deflected the ball that hit the crossbar
• The Cougars ended the game with two unanswered goals that locked in the 3-2 victory

Southern Virginia returns home to Knight Stadium to take on William Peace in the team's final home game on Saturday, October 23. Game time is scheduled for 7 pm.
