Box Score BUENA VISTA, VA. — The Southern Virginia University women's soccer team took on Salem College in Knight Stadium on Wednesday night. Southern Virginia took home the victory 5-4 with a late second-half comeback.

Game Notes
- In the fourth minute of the game, Makya Lindgren got her first goal of the game, stealing the ball away from the goalkeeper and scoring on the open net
- Midway through the first half, Ashley Linden scored an unassisted goal to tie the game up at one
- Just 40 seconds into the second half, Kassaundra Gorton spotted an open Makya Lindgren to connect for Lindgren's second goal with the go-ahead goal, putting the Knights up 2-1
- The Spirits answered with three consecutive goals from Baylee Greenwood, Ellie Montes, and Layla Locklear, doubling up Southern Virginia 4-2
- In the 62nd minute, Makya Lindgren recorded the hat trick, cutting the deficit to one 4-3 off of a Delaynee McKeachnie assist
- Lindgren demonstrated her vision, dishing out an assist to Makinna Winterton to tie the game back up at four with seven minutes remaining in the game
- One minute later, Makya Lindgren put the team on her back to score the game-winning goal and lock in the 5-4 victory for the Knights
Southern Virginia takes on Meredith College in the Knights final regular-season match Saturday, October 23. Game time is scheduled for 1 pm.
