BLACKSBURG, VA. — The Southern Virginia University rugby team earned their first victory of the 2021 season Friday night, defeating Virginia Tech 19-14. 

Game Notes

• 45 minutes in, Tech got on the board first with a tri
• Alex Payne got the Knights on the board 66 minutes into the match, while Oshea Settle scored the conversion
• Five minutes later, Vita Faletau scored Southern Virginia's second tri
• Oshea Settle again scored the ensuing conversion
• On the final play of the game, the Hokies scored their second tri of the game

Southern Virginia continues competition, taking on Mt. St. Mary's with game time scheduled for 1 pm.
