Box Score 2 SALEM, VA. — The Southern Virginia University women's volleyball team continued their dominant season Saturday afternoon, sweeping Salem and Pfeiffer in two USA South Conference matchups.

Game Notes
Game One:
- The first set saw both teams trade scoring runs, with the Knights holding on to the lead
- A final 5-1 scoring run and a final kill from Courtney Pinkston locked in the 1-0 lead for Southern Virginia
- Midway through the second set, the Knights doubled up Salem 12-6 following an Elle Warnick service ace
- Each team traded points, but two back to back kills from Sydney Hopkin put Southern Virginia up 2-0 in the match
- The Knight dominated the final set of the game, building a 14-5 advantage led by two Sydney Hopkin kills and aces
- Brenna Clyde made her presence felt with three kills towards the end of the set, along with two Julia Monson aces
- Jessi Frei set up Jilane Pedersen for the final kill of the game and completing the sweep over salem
Game Two:
- Both Southern Virginia and Pfeiffer exchanged scoring runs to start the match, with the set knotted at 12 at the midway point
- The Knights pulled ahead 21-14 and did not look back, with Taryn Kartchner leading the way with three kills
- Southern Virginia took the first set 25-21
- Elle Warnick showed her dominance in the second set leading off with three service aces to lead the team to a 5-0 start
- The Falcons fought their way back, coming within two points 17-15, but Southern Virginia outscored Pfeiffer 8-5 to take the 2-0 lead following a 25-20 set win
- Sydney Hopkin and her three kills started out the third set quickly, building a 12-7 lead in the third set
- With the score at 13-10, the Knights used an 8-0 scoring run led by three Courtney Pinkston kills to extend the lead to 11 points 21-10
- Elle Warnick set up Sydney Hopkin for a final kill to complete the weekend sweep and win the final set 25-19
The Knights take on Roanoke College in Knight Arena Monday, October 11. Game time is scheduled for 5 pm.
