Box Score GREENSBORO, NC. — The Southern Virginia University women's volleyball opened USA South Athletic Conference play Wednesday night, sweeping Greensboro College in a road contest.

First Set:
- The Knights set the pace early, going up 10-4
- A five-point run by Greensboro put them back just one point 10-9, but two Sydney Hopkin kills sparked an 8-3 run, putting the squad up 18-12
- The Pride would answer with a run of their own, coming within two points the remainder of the set
- Brenna Clyde set the Knights up with set point with a kill from an Elle Warnick pass
- A final attacking error put Southern Virginia up 1-0 in the game, taking the set 25-21

Third Set:
- Midway through the final set, Greensboro managed to stay within one point, but Southern Virginia used a 10-1 run led by three Julia Monson service aces to go up 20-10
- Greensboro had hopes of stealing a set from the Knights with an 8-3 run, but two final kills from Taryn Kartchner and Pinkston completed the sweep for Southern Virginia
The Knights return home to Knight Arena Saturday, September 25, for the team's home opener, taking on Willaim Peace at noon and Meredith at 6 pm.
