WINSTON-SALEM, NC. — The Southern Virginia University women's basketball team locked in their sixth consecutive victory Wednesday night, taking down Salem College 78-61 in a midweek USA South Conference matchup.

• The Knights came out ready to play in the first quarter, winning the first 19-11 off of five points from Anna Singer
• Salem picked up the pace in the second quarter, edging out Southern Virginia 16-15 to head into the halftime break down 34-27
• Anna Singer led the team with ten points, while Emma Camden tallied nine
• Singer continued to be consistent, scoring four points in the third quarter
• Lima Mulitalo added a bucket in the third quarter, coming off the bench and adding quality minutes for the team
• Addison Newman came up big in the final quarter of play, dropping seven points, along with one rebound, and one steal
• Emma Camden joined Newman, scoring seven points, while Alyssa McKrola came off the bench to add three points
• The Knights outscored the Spirites in the final quarter of play 30-19 to lock in the team's 78-61 victory
• Southern Virginia ended the match shooting 37 percent from the field, while shooting 30.8 percent from behind the arc
• The Knights outrebounded the Spirits 51-47, while outscoring the opposing bench 18-12

Southern Virginia returns home to Knight Arena Friday, January 14, to take on NC Wesleyan in a USA South Conference showdown. Game time is scheduled for 5 pm.
