BUENA VISTA, VA. — The Southern Virginia University women's basketball team kept their winning streak alive Friday night, improving to 9-0 in conference play, defeating NC Wesleyan 74-62.

•  The Knights set the pace of the game early, outscoring the Bishops 24-15 in the first quarter
• Addison Newman, Courtney McKrola, and Anna Singer led all players with six points
• Savanna Christensen turned up in the second quarter, leading the team with six points
• Coming off the bench, Anna Singer continued to shine, adding four more points and three rebounds
• Heading into the halftime break, Southern Virginia held the 42-35
• Savanna Christensen continued to dominate after the break, tallying a team-high seven points, three rebounds, and two assists
• Katie Garrish led the team in the final quarter, recording six points to help lock in the team's 74-62 victory
• The Knights outshot the Bishops from the field 45.3-31.8 percent, and dominated the boards 41-29
• Southern Virginia won the battle in the paint 38-24, and dished out more assists 23-7

The Knights travel to North Carolina Saturday, January 29, to take on Pfeiffer. Game time is scheduled for 2 pm.
