SALEM, VA. — In the team's season debut, the Southern Virginia University Track team opened their indoor season at the Bast-Cregger Invitational hosted by Roanoke College Saturday afternoon. Both men and women capitalized on the day, bringing home five event winners along with many other top program marks.
Event Winners:
- Dylan May: 5000 meters – 15:35.00
- Aaron Leavitt: 800 meters – 2:02.41
- Liz Morgan: 1000 meters – 3:16.23
- Kyandra Chandler: 3000 meters – 10:42.09
- Katelyn Warner: mile - 5:27.29
Along with the event winners, ten Knights made their way into the Top-5 in program history in their respective events.
Top Program Marks:
- Parker Arnold: pole vault - 3.75 meters - 2nd all time
- Cole Oldham: shot put - 11.98 meters - 4th in school history.
- Ainsley Lau: long jump - 4.81 meters - 2nd in school history and 60 meters 8.46 - 3rd in school history
- Sasha Willie: 5000 meters - 19:11.47 - 3rd in school history
- Mikki Prowse: High Jump - 1.45 - 2nd in school history
- Aaron Leavitt: High Jump - 2nd in school history
- Lily Dalebout: 1000 meters - 3:18.88 - 2nd in school history
- Katelyn Warner: Mile - 5:27.29 - 3rd in school history
- Brianna Knight: 60 hurdles - 10.55 - 3rd in school history
- Kyandra Chandler: 3000 meters - 10:42.09 - 3rd in school history
The Knights will look to continue their impressive start to their season on Saturday, January 21, competing at the Finn Pincus Invitational, again hosted by Roanoke College in Salem, Virginia.
