BUENA VISTA, VA. — The Southern Virginia University Women's Basketball team welcomed Washington and Lee University to Knight Arena on a rainy Tuesday night. The Knights' fourth quarter surge would not be enough against the Generals, falling 75-66.
Courtney Olson led the team with 21 points, including a three-pointer to start the game off, bringing in 11 rebounds and one block. Following Olson,
Emma Camden had her best game of the season, logging 12 points and going 5-for-12 from the field. The senior guard added two blocks and three steals in her contribution to the team.
Coming off the bench,
Alyssa McKrola was big for the team, recording ten points while
Abbigail Snyder added six.
The Knights were able to keep the game close at the beginning, keeping the Generals within two points before they began pulling away, heading into the second quarter with the 12-point, 23-11 lead. That advantage would be extended to 16 in the second quarter, taking a 39-23 lead into the halftime break.
Washington and Lee carried their lead into the fourth quarter, but Southern Virginia did not go away easily. Down 18 at the start, the Knights clawed their way back off a 17-3 scoring run led by nine

Emma Camden three, electrifying the crowd. The Generals were able to compose themselves and hold off the Knights, taking home the 75-66 victory.
Southern Virginia travels to Daytona Beach, Florida, over the weekend and will compete in the Daytona Beach Shootout. The Knights take on St. Norbert College on Monday, December 19, and Williams College on Wednesday, December 21. Game one is scheduled for 5 pm and game two is set for 3 pm.
