FREDERICKSBURG, VA. — The Southern Virginia University Women's Soccer Team traveled to the University of Mary Washington Wednesday night for the team's first game of the week, with the Knights falling to the Eagles 2-1.
Mary Washington set the tempo early, only needing three minutes to get on the board early with an Amanda Krest unassisted goal.
The Knights' defense along with goalkeeper,
Alyssa Trueman, stood their ground the remainder of the half keeping the score to 1-0. Trueman stood out with three saves in the half.
Trueman kept the momentum going in the second half, with two more saves within the first two minutes.
In the 70
th minute, Mary Washington's Mikaela O'Fallon scored the second goal of the game, making the new score 2-0.
Ten minutes later,
Makinna Winterton got the Knights on the board with her second goal of the year.
