NEWARK, NJ. – In a hard-fought First Round matchup of the NCAA Tournament, the Southern Virginia University Women's Soccer team faced a challenging encounter against New York University, succumbing to a 3-0 defeat.
The scoring action began in the 20th minute when NYU's Makenzie Rodrigues found the back of the net with an assist from Rachel Kim, putting the hosts in an early lead. Rodrigues continued her scoring prowess, securing a second goal in the 49th minute, this time assisted by Gabriella Funk. The third and final blow came in the 58th minute, courtesy of Dominique Bevacqua, with Funk once again providing the crucial assist.
