BUENA VISTA, VA. — As the regular season comes to a close, Southern Virginia University's women's lacrosse team capped off their last two games in impressive fashion, winning against Brevard College and Huntingdon College with dominant performances.
In their first game against Brevard College, Southern Virginia's
Kiah Baisden got things started early, scoring two goals in the first 13 minutes of play. Baisden continued her impressive play, netting all of her six total goals in the first half.
Rylee Webster and
Tyler John also had standout performances, with Webster scoring four goals and John recording three to help Southern Virginia secure the victory with a final score of 20-6.
Brevard College tried to rally back in the second half, with Autumn Kraemer and Emily Denaga each scoring a goal, but it wasn't enough to overcome Southern Virginia's dominant offense.
McKayla Martin,
Roxy LeBaron, and
Ashlynn Sanger also scored a goal each for Southern Virginia, while
Alissa Johnson rounded out the scoring with two goals.
In their second game against Huntingdon College, Southern Virginia's offense picked up right where they left off.
Alissa Johnson scored the game's first goal, and the team continued to dominate from there.
Skylar Roe,

Addison England all scored in the first quarter, and Southern Virginia ended the quarter with a 10-0 lead.
The rest of the game saw the Knights' offense dominate, while the defense left the Hawks with no options.
Overall, it was a dominant performance by Southern Virginia, who ended the game with a final score of 20-0, recording the program's first shutout.
Alissa Johnson led the way with five goals, while
Addison England recorded four, and
Tyler John and
Piper Searle added two goals each.
