Box Score BREVARD, NC – The Southern Virginia men's soccer team traveled to North Carolina for their first conference game of the season against Brevard and ended with a stalemate 0-0.
This was the third-ever meeting between the two schools, with the Tornados winning the first two matchups.
Brevard controlled much of the possession through the game and the Knights were unable to form attacking opportunities as the Tornados kept outshooting the Knights 24-6.
Benjamin Simister was able to have some close scoring chances in the second half, but the shots went high or were saved by Brevard's defense.
Southern Virginia's backline held strong by applying pressure and blocking shots to keep the Tornado attack at bay.
Treyden Stringham was able to keep the Knights in the game as he recorded nine saves and thwarted any Brevard attack.
Southern Virginia stays on the road as they head to Greensboro, NC on Wednesday, October 4
th to take on Greensboro College with kick-off set for 6:30 p.m.
