Greensboro, NC. — In the final regular-season conference matchup, the Southern Virginia University Women's Basketball team took on Greensboro College on the road, securing a dominant 73-40 victory over the Pride.
The trio of Knights consisting of
Maria Savvun,
Presley Heggie, and
Aysia Foster led the way in scoring with ten points apiece, while
Abigail Snyder was a menace at the board with 14 total rebounds.
Ruth Kempler played exceptional defense, recording four blocks and eight rebounds.
Southern Virginia had a solid night shooting, going 29-for-70 from the field with a 41.4 shooting percentage. The Knights won every battled needed, outrebounding the Pride 60-31, and winning the bench battle, outscoring Greensboro 37-2.
Heading into the postseason and the USA South Conference tournament, Southern Virginia and Methodist are tied for first place and will await the final seeding. The Knights are poised for another run for a conference championship and will await their opponent in Knight Arena on Tuesday, February 20
th.
