Buena Vista, VA - The Southern Virginia Women's Lacrosse team encountered tough competition on Wednesday night when they hosted non-conference opponent Randolph-Macon College, ultimately falling 3-21.
 
It was a promising start for the Knights when Kiah Baisden received a nifty pass from Addison England and sent it past the keeper for her 12th tally of the season and a 1-0 Knights lead.

A couple of quality saves by Freshman keeper, Madison Sorenson, would keep the Knights ahead for several possessions. Eventually, the Yellow Jackets would find their groove offensively and displayed a dominant performance the rest of the way as they shut out the Knights in the second quarter to open up a 11-1 advantage.

Depth scoring would lead the way for the Yellow Jackets as they had six players score two or more goals and controlled possession throughout the evening.
 
Southern Virginia managed to cause three turnovers and would draw even with the Yellow Jackets in the turnover battle, both teams ending with 13 on the day. 

Kiah Baisden would add another goal to her name in the 3rd quarter, as would Piper Searle who scored with a pretty shot on the run. Madison Sorenson would total 9 saves in goal but it wasn't enough to hold off the high-octane offense of the Yellow Jackets. The Knights would ultimately fall, 21-3.
 
With most of their non-conference schedule in the rearview mirror, the Knights will shift their focus to USA South Conference play. They'll host Piedmont this Saturday, March 16th, at 4:00 PM at Knights Stadium before traveling to Raleigh, North Carolina next Saturday, March 23rd, to face the Pacers of William Peace.
