Buena Vista, Va. - On a beautiful clear afternoon, The Southern Virginia University Knights took on the Greensboro College Pride in a double header. The Knights fell in both games to the Pride losing 11-2 and 8-3.
Although the Knights opened the scoring in game one they were no match for the Pride.
Sophia Badell threaded a triple through the right side and allowed
Emmaline DeGroot to score. The Knights defended their lead for another inning. Then the Pride showed their claws and in game one the Knights stood no match. By the bottom of the fifth the Knights were down 7-1.
Dykell Jones didn't deflate in deficit, grounding out to shortstop and allowing
Chloe Nelson to cross home. Greensboro scored four more and game one ended after six innings with a score of 11-2.

Greensboro continued their attack on the Knights in game two, leading 5-0 after two innings. The Knights didn't shy away from a challenge. In the fourth inning,
Madison Lloyd made an inside the park home run look easy. After a fumble from right field, Lloyd took an incredibly quick lap around the bases before the ball could make it home, taking the score to 5-1. The errors continued for the Pride,
Chloe Persinger reached first after a throwing error, that error allowed Jones to score.
Emmaline DeGroot smoked a double all the way to the center field fence, bringing Persinger across home. That rally ended after DeGroot's double, the Knights were still short of the lead by two at 5-3.

The Pride opened their lead up again and the Knights couldn't find a way to recover. Game two concluded in a 8-3 loss after seven hard fought innings for the Knights.

The Knights will continue their regular season play in Buena Vista, Va. on April 20 in a doubleheader against Methodist University.
