Brevard, NC - The Southern Virginia men's tennis team concluded their regular season with a closely contested match against Brevard College, ultimately falling short with a final score of 4-5.
Traejen Kingston and Jacob Feldman provided a strong start for Southern Virginia in doubles, securing a decisive 8-3 victory.
Despite the team's valiant effort, Brevard edged ahead in singles play. Abram Robbins displayed his tenacity in a hard-fought battle in the #1 singles position, clinching a thrilling win with a score of 5-7, 6-3, and 10-5. Isaac Wardle showcased his resilience in a challenging match in the #5 singles spot, emerging victorious with scores of 7-5 (7-3) and 6-1.
Although Jeffrey Purcell narrowly missed out in a tiebreaker set and Brevard secured two wins by default, the Knights fought fiercely until the end.
Looking ahead, Southern Virginia seeks redemption as they prepare to face Brevard once again on Monday, April 22nd, in the 2024 USA South Men's Tennis Tournament.
