Greensboro, N.C - It was another banner evening for Head Coach Debby Baker's squad, as the Southern Virginia University women's volleyball team reigns victorious over the USA South for the second consecutive season.
The Knights won a first-set marathon, 28-26, after a Greensboro attacking error.
In the second, with the score knotted at 22, Anne Downs and Aubrey Packer combined for three kills to take the set, putting them on the verge of another championship.
The undefeated Pride played desperate in the third and would not make it easy for Southern Virginia who were winless against the Pride in two tries this season.
After a lengthy delay to repair the net late in the third, the Knights were undeterred. They rattled off eight of the final eleven points, including a kill from Ryann Vail to seal things and pull off the upset over the top seeded Pride.
Aubrey Packer was named Tournament MVP for the Knights who have now won four of five conference championships since joining the USA South
