Swannanoa, N.C. — The Southern Virginia University men's basketball team rolled past the Warren Wilson Owls with a 95–73 road victory, improving to 8–0 all-time against the Owls. The teams last met in 2006.
The Knights exploded out of the gate with a monster first half, pouring in 53 points while shooting 51.2% (21–41) from the field and 50% (6–12) from beyond the arc. The early surge was led by Hyrum McConkie, who delivered 17 points before halftime.
Warren Wilson opened the second half with energy, knocking down a pair of threes to spark an 8–4 run. But DJ Green halted the momentum with a three of his own, and McConkie continued to power the offense as the Knights pushed the lead back to double digits.
Southern Virginia controlled the pace the rest of the way, stretching the lead to as many as 26 points. In a true team effort, 13 different Knights contributed on the floor.
The Knights posted their lowest turnover total of the season (10) and recorded their highest-scoring game of the year with 95 points.
McConkie capped off the night with a dominant 23-point, 13-rebound double-double, shooting an efficient 10–12 from the field.
Off the bench, Mason Hunter sparked the Knights with 13 points, knocking down 4–9 from deep.

Southern Virginia was dialed in from long range, hitting 12 threes at a 48% clip, and dominated the boards with 41 rebounds, including 13 offensive boards.
The Knights now look to carry that momentum into a matchup against regional powerhouse Christopher Newport University on Saturday, December 6th at 4:00 PM. The teams last met in 2021, when the Captains earned a 74–65 win.
