Buena Vista, Va. – The Southern Virginia University men's tennis team battled to a 4-3 victory over Maryville College on Saturday afternoon in a tightly contested match that featured multiple tiebreakers.

The Knights set the tone early by sweeping the doubles matches to claim the crucial doubles point. Jared Pitcher and Mason Pitcher teamed up for a victory at No. 1 doubles, while Trent McBride and Nate Walton secured the No. 2 doubles match. Chase Rishel and Hayden Carver completed the sweep with a win at No. 3 doubles.

In singles play, Jared Pitcher, Trent McBride, and Jacob Feldman each earned hard-fought victories to clinch the overall match for Southern Virginia.

The Knights will look to continue their winning momentum as they return home to host Penn State Abington on Thursday, March 13th, at 1:00 PM.
