Rocky Mount, NC.- The Southern Virginia University Softball Team demonstrated resilience in a closely contested 3-2 loss to Greensboro on May 1, 2025, in Rocky Mount, NC. Despite an initial setback, SVU showcased their fighting spirit with a late-inning rally.
The game began with Greensboro seizing an early advantage, scoring 2 runs in the first inning. SVU faced this early deficit, but their response in the top of the seventh inning revealed the team's tenacity. S. Badell's single and N. Woodhouse's subsequent score brought SVU within a single run of tying the game. Following this, M. Manuleleu's single, combined with an error by Greensboro's left fielder, allowed another SVU run to score.
A. Prymak took the mound for SVU, pitching 6 innings and allowing only 3 runs. Key offensive contributions came from D. Jones, who went 3 for 3, and S. Badell, who also had 3 hits and an RBI.
In another impressive offensive feat, N. Woodhouse scored one run and showed her aggressive base-running tendencies and had a stolen base.
