BUENA VISTA, Va. - In their lone home tri-match of the season, the Southern Virginia University men's volleyball team impressed in front of its home crowd, securing wins over Lancaster Bible and Bridgewater in straight sets.
Game One
Fresh off an NCAA Tournament appearance last season, the Lancaster Bible Chargers presented the first test of the day for the Knights.
Southern Virginia was steady in all three sets, preventing their opponents from producing any major runs. Tommy Forese continued his torrid start to the season and led both teams with 14 kills. Brady Dastrup was lethal from the service line, recording five of the Knights' seven aces.
Gehrig Tolman guided the attack with 35 assists as Southern Virginia finished off another quality opponent in three sets after hitting an efficient .542 in the third set.
Game Two
In its inaugural season, Bridgewater College faced off with the Knights for the first time in their young history. Brady Dastrup, who had four kills in the early going, helped his team make quick work of the Eagles in the opening set, conceding just eight points.
Head Coach Tom Peterson gave other players in his lineup a chance to shine over the next couple of sets, including Trajan Wadsworth who finished with a team high of six kills on just eight attacks.
Christian Owen also came in during all three sets at libero to finish with four digs. Mark Tomlinson finished with double digit assists for the second time this season while splitting time with Keanu Calles.
In the end, 14 different Knights recorded points to put an exclamation mark on the weekend and keep their undefeated record intact.
