ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. - In a quick weekday trip down south, the Southern Virginia University women's volleyball team took care of business against North Carolina Wesleyan, taking down the Battling Bishops in four sets.
Late, in the opening frame, the Knights used a six point unanswered burst to gain control of the match.
Anne Downs had the hot hand in the early going, tallying five kills in the first to continue her torrid stretch of late.
Despite dropping the next set, Southern Virginia used another strong defensive effort to hold off their opponents and win the next two.
Baylee Mirabal and Anne Downs each recorded over 20 digs, with Laura Forsgren and Chloe Murray also notching double figures. Adah Elam ninth kill of the day sealed things for the Knights who have now won three straight.
