MISENHEIMER, N.C. - With the postseason on the horizon, the Southern Virginia University women's basketball paid Pfeiffer a visit in their final game of the regular season.

Unfortunately for the Knights, they were handed just their second loss of the season in league play, dropping a 69-64 decision to the Falcons.

To nobody's surprise, after a thrilling game in their first matchup in January, the teams traded the lead through all four quarters.

Anna Kimball did well in establishing herself in the paint early on, scoring opening buckets in each of the first two quarters to total 8 points by halftime. Abigail Snyder was lights out once again, making key shot after key shot to keep Southern Virginia within striking distance. She went on to record her fourth 30 point outing of the season.

Heading into the second half, the Knights led 36-33. However, looking to avenge their previous loss to Southern Virginia, Pfeiffer wouldn't give the Knights any breathing room.

Ultimately, the Falcons managed to score on their last few possessions while locking down the Southern Virginia attack to escape with a victory, their first over the defending champs in several years.

 Looking Ahead 

As a result of the loss, Southern Virginia slides down to the second seed for the upcoming USA South Tournament.

However, pending their first round outcome, they'll host at least the opening two rounds. Southern Virginia's march towards a three-peat begins on Tuesday, February 24th at 5:30 PM against Methodist, the seventh seed in the tournament.
