Buena Vista, Va. – The Southern Virginia University women's tennis team delivered a dominant performance, sweeping Trinity Washington University 7-0 to improve to 4-0 on the season and secure its second straight win of the spring campaign.
The Knights turned in one of the most commanding outings in program history, not dropping a single point in doubles play and surrendering just three total points across all singles matches in the shutout victory.
Southern Virginia's lineup controlled play from start to finish, highlighted by flawless performances from Lydia Delch, Lucy Galgleish, and Hailey Laird, each earning decisive 6-0, 6-0 wins. Erika Read, Brynlee Weir, and Elizabeth Ursenbach continued the dominance in singles action, each claiming victories by scores of 6-1, 6-0.
After a stretch of inactivity, the Knights waste no time returning to the court. Southern Virginia will travel to Tennessee to take on Johnson University on Friday at 2:30 p.m., before heading to nearby Maryville for another matchup on Saturday, March 28.
