BUENA VISTA, Va. - The regular season officially came to a close for the Southern Virginia University men's volleyball on Friday evening.
The Knights took down Drew in three sets on senior night, sending the team into the postseason on a high note and capping off an undefeated regular season against CVC opponents.
Brady Dastrup had a day, leading the team with 14 kills and recording four of Southern Virginia's six aces. David Ward was the other Knight to finish with double-digit kills, tallying 12.
Ward, the lone senior on the squad, has become a key leader for the defending champs after transferring to Buena Vista for his final season of eligibility.
Ward enjoyed a standout career at Eastern Mennonite, where he became an all-conference performer in the CVC. After missing the first half of the season with an injury, he's fit in nicely and has made a lethal attack even more potent.

After trailing for much of the third set, Southern Virginia put on the afterburner by scoring 12 of the final 18 points to claim a sweep over Drew.
Looking Ahead
By claiming the top seed in the CVC, Southern Virginia will host the conference tournament on Friday, April 10th and Saturday, April 11th. Matches will take place in Holekamp Gymnasium in Lexington, Virginia.
The Knights are aiming for their third straight CVC Tournament title and fifth overall.
