Raleigh, N.C. — The Southern Virginia University women's tennis team continued its strong conference play with a 7-0 sweep over the Avenging Angels of Meredith College, securing its second straight conference victory.
The win also marked the Knights' seventh consecutive victory over Meredith.
Southern Virginia set the tone early in doubles play. The pairings of Lydia Delich and Nadia Molanphy, along with Lucy Dalgleish and Erika Read, each earned dominant 6-0 wins at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles. Hailey Laird and Brynlee Weir secured the doubles point with a hard-fought 7-5 victory at the No. 3 spot.
In singles action, the Knights continued their dominance. Lydia Delich and Hailey Laird posted perfect 6-0, 6-0 wins at No. 1 and No. 6 singles. Erika Read, Nadia Molanphy, Brynlee Weir, and Lucy Dalgleish each added straight-set victories across the remaining singles positions to complete the sweep.
The Knights will remain on the road for the second match of their three-match road trip, traveling to Randolph College on Monday, April 13, at 3:00 p.m.
