Palm Desert, Calif. – Southern Virginia University women's golfer Sydney Richards advanced past the cut and continued her historic performance at the NCAA Division III Women's Golf National Championship, sitting in 10th place with a three-round score of 218 (+2).
Richards delivered a standout second round highlighted by an eagle on hole 15 after driving the green on the 275-yard par four. Her strong play moved her as high as tied for second place during the tournament.
She faced some adversity during the third round, but continued to battle throughout the day. Despite recording a birdie on hole 15, a series of bogeys dropped Richards back to 10th place heading into the final round.
Richards will conclude competition Friday in the final 18 holes of the championship as she looks to cap off an already record-setting season for the young Southern Virginia program.
