ANNVILLE, PA – The Southern Virginia University men's tennis team traveled north to Lebanon Valley College for the first meeting between the two programs, with the Knights coming away with a hard-fought 4-3 victory.
Southern Virginia opened the match by securing the doubles point. Trent McBride and Stephen Morgan earned a hard-fought tiebreaker victory at No. 2 doubles, winning 7-6. Jeffrey Purcell and Talin McDougal then secured the point at No. 3 doubles with a 6-2 victory.
The Knights continued their strong play in singles competition, earning three victories to secure the overall match win. Morgan picked up the win at No. 2 singles, while Mason Pitcher earned the victory at No. 3 singles. McBride added another win for the Knights at No. 4 singles.
Southern Virginia will travel west to the University of Pikeville on Friday, Oct. 2, where the Knights will face host Pikeville at 10 a.m. before taking on King University at 1 p.m.
