Gene Pryor

Gene Pryor, serving as the Knights offensive line coach, brings a wealth of experience and a winning attitude to the field. In addition to his responsibilities with the offensive line, he also is responsible for directing the travel and logistics for the Knights. Pryor's journey to coaching excellence follows a distinguished football career that led him from the University of Hawaii (UH) to signing with the Kansas City Chiefs in 2022. Before joining SVU, Pryor made his mark as a member of the USFL Michigan Panthers, showcasing his talent and dedication to the game.

Pryor's commanding presence on the field is matched only by his passion for the game. His favorite football memory stems from his time at UH, where he experienced the exhilaration of defeating the BYU Cougars in the Hawaii Bowl. Pryor's commitment to excellence is evident in his performance on the field, starting all 13 games at right tackle during the 2021 season and being selected to play in the SPIRAL Tropical Bowl in Orlando, Florida.

Before his collegiate career, Pryor honed his skills at Mt. Whitney High School in Visalia, California, earning multiple accolades as a standout athlete in football, basketball, and track. His versatility and athleticism laid the foundation for his success on the gridiron, culminating in a journey that took him from the College of the Sequoias to the professional ranks.

Off the field, Pryor is known for his loving nature and strong family values. 

Born in Visalia, California, Pryor is affectionately nicknamed "Big Gene" among friends and colleagues. Majoring in sociology, Pryor demonstrates a keen interest in understanding human behavior and societal dynamics. He comes from a close-knit family with three brothers and three sisters, reflecting his upbringing rooted in support and camaraderie.

Pryor's journey in football has been marked by resilience, determination, and an unwavering commitment to excellence. His transition from player to coach signifies a new chapter in his football journey, one in which he continues to inspire and mentor young athletes, shaping the future of football one player at a time.
