Pass Game Coordinator Mark Murdoch is joining the Southern Virginia staff after a year at Illinois College, where he led the Blueboys to win their final four games. Murdoch, the Offensive Coordinator and Quarterbacks Coach, guided the team to rank third in the Midwest Conference in passing yards per attempt and yards per game. 

Prior to coaching at Illinois College, Murdoch spent four years as a high school head coach in the state of Utah–three with Desert Hills High School in St. George and one at Payson High School in Payson, Utah. While there, he led his teams to a playoff berth each year and competed for the region championship three out of four years. In addition, his offense consistently ranked at the top of the state in yards and points scored.

Before his time as a high school head coach, he was the running backs coach at Snow College in Ephraim, Utah, where he was privileged to coach the Junior College Offensive player of the year and current Pittsburgh Steeler, Jaylen Warren. Prior to Snow College, Coach Murdoch coached defensive backs at Springville High School in Springville, Utah, where they went 13-1 on the season, with their only loss coming in the state championship game.

Murdoch is married and has five children.
