Tate Rusick

Tate Rusick takes on the groundbreaking role as the first Director of Football Video and Technology in Southern Virginia University’s history, positioning him as a key player in the football program's strategic success. Tate’s responsibilities go far beyond traditional video coordination—he is tasked with harnessing cutting-edge technology and advanced analytics to enhance game preparation, player performance, and coaching efficiency.
 
A former offensive lineman for the Knights, standing at 6'3" and playing multiple positions including Tackle, Guard, and Center, Tate’s in-depth knowledge of football positions him perfectly to understand both the physical and tactical demands of the game. His expertise allows him to provide detailed film breakdowns, statistical insights, and game-day analysis, making him an essential contributor to the Knights' competitive edge.
 
In this role, Tate oversees the filming, editing, and analysis of practices and games, ensuring that coaches and players have immediate access to valuable performance data. He uses specialized video software to dissect opponents' strategies and identify areas of improvement for the team. His role also includes managing the video technology infrastructure, collaborating with coaches to ensure optimal use of technological resources, and assisting in creating comprehensive scouting reports. This level of precision is vital in ensuring the Knights stay ahead of the competition, especially in today’s data-driven approach to football.
 
Before his time at SVU, Tate was a standout athlete at Skyridge High School from 2016-2020 and later served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Reno, Nevada. His unique combination of leadership, technological skills, and football expertise makes him an invaluable part of the Knights' football operations, helping to shape the future of the program.
