Kolby Kemp

Kolby Kemp was named an Assistant Coach ahead of the 2023 season. He's living his dream coaching college softball and loves seeing a team come together, becoming better than the sum of their part and loves recruiting the next Southern Virginia University Knights!

Prior to joining the Southern Virginia staff, Kemp spent the previous ten years coaching top travel ball teams in Utah, winning multiple state titles and making several appearances in the National Championship. He sent dozens of student-athletes to college softball programs around the country from Division l to Division lll. He is also an accomplished umpire having worked the 2021 Utah State High School championship game and umpiring at Cooperstown Dreams Park.

Coach Kemp grew up in South Jordan, Utah and graduated from Bingham High School. Later, he served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Campinas, Brazil and graduated from the University of Utah with a BA in Communications.

He is married to his wife, Heather, and has a daughter, Krystal, and a son, Kenyon. In his free time he loves to cook, golf, and fish, which includes managing his own fishing pond on his property.
