Amanda McCoy

Coach Amanda McCoy has been coaching volleyball for almost two decades.  As a student athlete at William Byrd High School Varsity she was a member of the Varsity volleyball team in 2000 winning the school's only VHSL State title to date and would continue playing volleyball at the Division III level. 

Amanda began coaching in 2008 returning to William Byrd as the head Varsity coach and has coached at the Varsity level for 15 years. Most recently Amanda served as the head Varsity coach at Rockbridge County High School from 2016-2022.  While under her tenure the "Cats" made three VHSL State Tournament appearances (the first in school history in 2017), back to back Region C champions in 2017 and 2018 as well as 5 Valley District Tournament Champions and 5 regular season Valley District Champions in a row. Amanda was named the 2018, 2019 and 2021 Valley District “ Coach of the Year”, 2017 and 2018 Region C "Coach of the Year". Amanda's players have been recognized at the district, region and state levels with 14 VHSL All State players, 2 Region C Players of the Year and 4 Valley District Players of the Year. 

Amanda is a member of the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) and has had 23 AVCA Under Armor Phenom Players since 2017. As Executive Director of Next Revolution Volleyball Club in Roanoke she oversees 22 teams who travel throughout the country as well as facilitates camps, clinics and lessons for players in Southwestern Virginia.
