Pace graduated from Southern Virginia University with a bachelor's of arts degree in Physical Education and Recreation Administration and also earned a master's of science in Sports Health and fitness from The United States Sports Academy.
 
While attending Southern Virginia, Pace was a member of the football team and was part of the first win in program history, while on the first team to have a winning season.  
 
Prior to his time here at Southern Virginia, Pace worked in the physical therapy field for 10 years and was an Assistant Speed and Conditioning coach for an Arizona Youth Soccer Club for 2 years.
 
As part of his graduate degree course work, Pace had an internship and worked for  Arizona State University's Sports Performance Department. His primary duties were working with the Sun Devil’s football and women’s volleyball teams and also spent time coaching their Men’s and Women’s track and field, cross country, men’s ice hockey, women’s tennis, gymnastics, and women’s water polo teams.
 
While working at Arizona State, Pace was able to observe Michael Phelps, Allison Schmitt and other members of the US Olympic swim team train twice a week for 4 months in their preparation for the 2016 Rio de Janeiro summer Olympics.
  
Pace served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in the Philippines Ilagan Mission and now resides in Buena Vista with wife Emily and 3 children.
